Top Ten Most Difficult Books to Write – #7

Top ten most difficult books for me to write:
#7 – The Bones of Makaidos (Book #4 in Oracles of Fire)
Affectionately known as Bones, this book, at 670 pages, is my longest to date. But that’s not the only reason it’s on the most-difficult list.
At the time, I thought it would be the end of the Billy-and-Bonnie story, so I had to bring everything and everyone together for a conclusion, and I wanted to make it a spectacular finish.
I think I accomplished that, especially with the final scene before the epilogue–no spoilers, but readers know what I mean. That took a lot of effort.
As readers also know, by this time in the story world, there were many characters for whom I had to complete their story arcs. That was fun but also brain-bustingly difficult.
The story itself was also emotionally heart-piercing, a quality that added to the difficulty.
